For Authors

Get An Agent
Do you have a book or concept that you'd like to discuss with an agent? There are a few ways to go about it. One way is to match a particular agent to your particular project or need. You can do this by turning to our agent biographies online and reading up on our staff. Each agent bio page contains the background and contact information for the agent, and you can send an email to initiate contact. You'll find this is the quickest way to make contact with and begin a relationship with an agent.

At this point, it's best to email the agent you have chosen with a short inquiry letter describing the subject area or book idea you are planning on writing about, your qualifications and previous writing experience. You will find that Waterside agents are closely tied to email and will respond quickly. For best results whenever you contact an agent, we recommend that you check out our Proposal Guidelines so you can effectively communicate your ideas and get a quick response. See the Agents now.

You can also use our Query An Agent Form to submit your idea and we'll forward it to the appropriate agent for you.

Promote Your Book
So you've written a computer book and want some help with promotion? Well, you've come to the right place. While it's probably not beneficial to set up a national author tour, there are many things that can be done to improve the sales and notoriety of you and your book. Most of these can be done online through the Internet. To help you get started, we've started a blog with all kinds of ideas for self-promotion. Check it out here.
